Statements
A false notice can have legal consequences. If you’re not sure, ask a lawyer first.

If your content was removed

If we removed something you posted and you believe that was a mistake — you own it, you have permission, or the law allows your use — you can send a counter-notice through contact support. Include a link to the removed content, why you believe it was removed in error, your full name and contact details, and a statement that what you say is true.

We send the counter-notice to the person who filed the original notice. If they do not tell us within 10 to 14 working days that they have started legal action, we may restore the content.

Repeat infringement

A valid notice against your content can lead to a strike on your account. We close the accounts of people who repeatedly post work they do not have the rights to. How strikes and appeals work is set out in reports, strikes and appeals.

Were you on the other end of a notice? See reports, strikes and appeals. Something else? Contact support.
